Ya’ll, this may just be our family’s new favorite meal. Not only was it SUPER easy to prepare, but cooking it was simple too!
We have recently discovered our love for skillet meals. Simple prep, easy cooking, quick clean-up. It’s a win-win!
I’m not much of a cook (like at all). My husband has always been the chef in the house and to be quite frank, I have never had any desire to learn. (Which is exactly why you’ll never see a difficult recipe on this blog.)
Ingredients
(2) 6 oz. steaks (we used NY Strip), diced
(2) medium/large sweet potatoes, diced
(1) bundle of asparagus, cut into thirds
Optional: mushroom, bell pepper, shredded cheese, minced garlic
Seasonings: garlic salt, Dale sauce, seasoning salt, chili powder, cinnamon sugar
In a large skillet, cook diced sweet potatoes and 1 cup of water on medium heat for about 7-8 minutes. Add cinnamon sugar and chili powder to taste. Cover; stirring occasionally.
While that is cooking, add garlic salt, dale sauce and seasoning salt to diced steak and mix well.
Add asparagus and 1/4 cup of water to same skillet on low-medium heat for 3-4 minutes. Cover.
Place steak on low-medium heat in small skillet. Cook to taste (we prefer medium-rare).
Place any additional vegetables or additives you’d like in the larger skillet. We prefer mushrooms and minced garlic. Add any additional water, if necessary. Cover.
Add cooked steak to larger skillet. Stir. Add any cheese or additional seasoning if desired.
Serve and enjoy!
