Choosing a baby name is easily one of the most important, yet difficult, things you will have to do when preparing for baby.
If you’re lucky, you and your partner will have had some midnight conversation about this years and years ago after a series of margaritas and have known what to name your kids since that day.
For the rest of us, your husband wants to name your son Leonidas Clyde.
For us, it’s the latter. We thought we had a name in mind from when we were pregnant with Charlotte. Turns out, we were both spelling it differently all these years and neither of us are willing to give in to the others spelling suggestion.

SO, we were sent back to the drawing board for baby #2.
We did find out recently that we are expecting a BOY! (Very excited, but realizing boy names are much more difficult that girls!)
I wanted to share the top 5 names for both boy and girl that made it on our shortlist this time around!
If we were having a girl, we both knew instantly what we would name her. However, we are not having the same luck with boy names.
Here is our list of favorite modern baby names. We’ll see if any of them make the final cut. 😉
TOP 5 BABY GIRL NAMES
- Vivienne (This is the girl name we absolutely would have gone with! Vivienne Kate, after my grandmother (Catherine) and great-grandmother (Vivian.)
- Eleanor
- Gianna
- Berkeley
- Harper
TOP 5 BABY BOY NAMES
- Tucker
- Wyatt
- Liam
- Bennett
- Kade
Out of total curiosity and indecisiveness, feel free to share what your current favorite baby name picks are!

Ooh… I LOVE baby names. Obsessed actually. I have always found it easier to name boys than girls. IF we ever had another boy (which we are not), he already has a name. But some of my favorite boy names are Hayes, Case, Tate, and Judson.
